Platinum Pick of the week:

Rams -4

The Rams are one of the most explosive teams in the league. They have been playing great even without RB Marshall Faulk, who is back & fully rested. Mark Bulger is playing as good if not better than any QB in the league. The Rams defense is fast and excellent at pursuit. They should be able to limit the 49ers running game. With Jeff Garcia injured and benched, the rams should have less to worry about with Terrell Owens. The Rams will pressure young back up QB Tim Rattay. My only question is will the Rams defense outscore the 49ers offense. RAMS -4

Gold Picks:

Eagles -4.5
Panthers 6
Vikings -4.5
Raiders -3

Call me crazy but I think the Falcons stink. Therefore I was going with the Eagles as my Platinum Pick of the week. But then the Jeff Garcia injury popped up. Donovan will have enough time to get in a groove. He should be able to look good against this horrible Falcons secondary. Throw in the fact the Eagles are finally developing an effective run game. Donovan will have plenty of chunky soup this week after his Eagles beat up on the Falcons. EAGLES -4.5

If you have been reading my weekly posts then you are well aware that I am on the Carolina bandwagon. They are a tight group that is well coached and they all play tough. These guys wanna win for themselves as much as for each other. They play to win. The Panthers have not looked out of place yet this season. Credit that to coach John Fox. They will be tasting blood on the road in Texas with backup QB Tony Banks starting. He may be lunch for Julius Peppers and the rest of the ferocious Panthers defense. PANTHERS -5

The Vikings are playing great football. They patched up most of their weak spots during the off season and now they are finally as good as they can be. This week they host Brett Favre and his broken thumb, oh yeah and his impossibility of winning in a dome. This one is the one you don’t even have to look at. Brett Favre simply cannot win in domes. Now consider how good the Vikings are playing and you have a comfortable 4.5 spread. VIKINGS -4.5

The Raiders get back WR Jerry Porter and nobody is more relieved than Rich Gannon. Porter, although maybe not the most talented player on the team, he is the biggest difference maker. With a legit 3rd WR and slot guy Gannon will be able to stretch the field. Having two or three short options is what makes this Raiders offense click. Seems like they have the O line playing better, Charlie Garner is getting back to form, and Gannon will have a lot less pressure on him this week. Gannon must be feeling relief and licking his chops thinking about playing Detroit Tigers. Er Um I mean the Lions. Raiders win big in Detroit. RAIDERS -3
