NFL Betting Tutorial - Free Expert Online NFL Football Betting Tutorial - section 1
NFL Betting Tutorial - Our expert NFL football handicapper team presents an easy to read betting
tutorial for online sports betting enthusiasts.
Most professional NFL football handicappers and successful sports betting enthusiasts
like to utilize a plethora of information including detailed statistical analysis (NFL stat sheet) to help make winning picks. The NFL stat sheets we provide include
statistics for the two opposing teams such as results from recent game match ups between these teams, similar
opponents and recent ATS (against the spread) results.
Clicking the link below should open a new window. If that doesn't work you can
do this on most computers by right clicking your mouse and selecting the "open
in new window".
Using 2 different windows here will allow you to go section by section while
looking back and forth between this tutorial and the NFL football stat sheet so
you can learn at your own pace.
NFL football Stat Sheet - Game of the week
Please Note: The example NFL football stat sheet we are using to make this NFL
football betting tutorial is from the 2005 NFC Championship game between the
Philadelphia Eagles & Atlanta Falcons. That means stats we provide below are
relevant for this (old) game. The stat sheet you have open after clicking the
above link should be analyzing different stats that are relevant for the current
NFL game of the week. (next week games). Lets get started!
NFL Betting Tutorial - Section 2
NFL football handicapper - Power Rating System
The power rating system is based on recent game results. NFL handicappers use
this to compare the relative strength of the two teams involved. A power line is
calculated using both teams ratings & home field advantage. When you compare the
power rating line to the current point spread you establish the "edge" which
indicates the better ATS (against the spread) pick for this NFL football game.
Example 1: Lets say the current point spread shows the Eagles -5 and the Power
Rating Line is Eagles -7. There is a 2 point difference in favor of the Eagles
which signifies the edge is Eagles +2. In this example the Eagles -5 is the
better ATS pick.
Example 2: Lets say the current point spread is Eagles -5 (same as above). Now
lets say the Power Rating Line is Eagles -3. There is a 2 point difference the
other way in this example which signifies the edge is Falcons +2 and so Falcons
+5 would be the better ATS pick.

Team Line Action - Where the money is going!
Odds makers move a line in part because of one-sided public betting action on a
side or total. They also move the line in reaction to "wise guy's" selections.
This section attempts to uncover whether the wise guys and public have a "read"
on a given team. It summarizes both line and total movements. As a general rule,
follow the line or total movement when percentages exceed 57% and go against it
when they are below 43%.
